Eligibility
-Individuals who have an annual gross household income of up to 200% of the federal poverty level may qualify for the Express Lanes START discount. 200% Federal Poverty Level 2024To qualify, you must have a gross (before taxes) income level at or up to the amounts below.Household size Household income up to 1 $30,120 2 $40,880 3 $51,640 4 $62,400 5 $73,160 6 $83,920 7 $94,680 8 $105,440Add $10,760 for each additional household member over eight.-Participants must have a mailing address in the nine-county Bay Area. FasTrak Account-Participants must have a FasTrak account with the Express Lanes START discount activated in their account and a properly set FasTrak Flex toll tag in the vehicle. Sign up for FasTrak at BayAreaFasTrak.org.-Participants need to register their vehicle's license plate number in their FasTrak account.

How to Apply
For new clients: Visit the website to apply. If approved, client will receive a unique approval code during the application process. Then, they will enter the code when signing up for a FasTrak account at BayAreaFasTrak.org and the discount will be activated. Current eligible Fastrak clients will automatically be enrolled.
Documents Required
-Applicants need to provide Proof of ID, Proof of Income, and a San Francisco Bay Area home mailing address.Muni Lifeline number, Clipper START card number, county eligibility letter or the most recent tax return.Other forms of proof of income may be considered.
