Regional Transit Connection Discount Card Program (RTC)

Description

Provides a discount card for reduced fares on fixed-route transit, bus, rail, and ferry systems throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Program is available to persons with qualifying disabilities. Applications are accepted at all San Francisco Bay Area transit systems and then forwarded to a central office.Please note: Offers services during Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) and Disasters. Services are available if power is turned off in this facility.

Program information

Eligibility: Basic Eligibility Form if you meet one or more of the following criteria:Have a Medicare Card;Have a valid DMV placard;Are a qualifying Disabled US Veteran;Have a current disabled cardholder from another transit agency.MEDICAL ELIGIBILITY: To qualify under "Medical Eligibility," must be certified by one of the State of California licensed professionals described below:Licensed physicians with an M.D. or D.O. degree, licensed physician's assistants and nurse practitioners may certify in all categories in which they are licensed to diagnoseLicensed chiropractors, categories 1, 2, 3, and 4Licensed podiatrists, disabilities involving the feet under categories 1, 2, 3, and 4Licensed optometrists (OPT), category 9Licensed audiologists (AU), category 10Licensed clinical psychologists (PSY) and licensed educational psychologists (LEP), categories 15, 16, and 17Licensed Marriage and Family Counselors (MFT), and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), category 17
Program Fee: $3 processing fee$5 for replacement card
Application Process: Visit during program hours
Documents Required: Basic Eligibility: present one of the following: Medicare card; California DMV placard (or valid registration for placard); other transit agency or visitor card; proof of age 65 or above; or proof of veterans disability. Medical Eligibility: Completed medical certification from designated licensed professional; qualifying disability.
