Eligibility
To be eligible for VITA tax preparation, individuals must:- have annual household income of $56,000 or less in 2019- not have any rental income from properties that they own- not file for bankruptcy in last year- not have self-employment expenses over $10,000- not file separately from their spouse if they are married.

Documents Required
. Picture ID for you and, if married and filing jointly, picture ID for your spouse.. Social Security cards or ITIN document for each family member.. W-2 forms for all jobs held in 2019 and any additional forms relating to income including gambling winnings, jury pay, interest and dividend statements. All 1099 forms for other income, such as unemployment, social security and self-employment.. Any letters or notices caller received from the IRS, including tax packet and records of any estimated tax payments made.. For a faster refund that is directly deposited, bring a check or a canceled check.. Form 1095-A Health Insurance Marketplace Statement, if applicable.. A copy of last year's return if available.DOCUMENTS FOR POSSIBLE DEDUCTIONS AND CREDITS:. Rental information for possible credit on CA return to include landlord's name, address and phone number.. If you paid child care - bring documentation listing provider name, address, tax id#, and amount paid.. If you, your spouse, or a child attended college - tuition expense statement (1098T) and student loan interest statement (1098E).. Documentation of alimony and child support.
