Eligibility
The District Attorney and the Defense Attorney/Public Defender's office will identify defendants who have pending cases meeting the eligibility criteria.The Court will refer case to Probation for suitability report.. Felonies Only. No prior Adult criminal convictions. The defendant is between the ages of18 and 20 at the time of the offenseand is currently under 24 years of age.. Defendant does not have to registerpursuant to Penal Code Section 290. Defendant has not been convicted ofan offense listed under Penal CodeSection 1192.7 and/or 667.5 orWelfare and Institution Code Section707

How to Apply
Discuss the program with attorney. Attorney will discuss eligibility with the Judge and District Attorney. If the Court agrees with attorney's recommendation, they will refer case to Probation to decide if the program is appropriate. If found eligible, the Court will grant DEJ. Please note: participation is voluntary. Prior to the Court ordering DEJ, must agree to participate in the program and plead to a felony offense.
