Eligibility
Families must meet income and asset tests and children must be deprived of parental support and care due to the incapacity, death, absence of a parent, or unemployment of the principal wage earner. Specific eligibility requirements take into account an applicant's citizenship or non-citizen status, age, income, resources, assets and other factors. Children may receive assistance up to age 18.
