Eligibility
Open to Oakland property owners living in the unit to be modified; owner occupants must be low-income and physically disabled. Must also maintain access improvements on the property for a period of five years. Property must be in the City of Oakland's seven Community Development Districts. Properties must be up to code or modifications must include repair of code deficiencies.Properties receiving AIP grants assistance are eligible based on applicants needs and certified by a Physician.Eligible repairs include wheelchair ramps or lifts, bathroom modification for wheelchair accessibility, and entry modifications. Excluded: Walk-in bathtub.
